The 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air may well be the quintessential American car. This lovely example has been an important part of Larry McClure’s personal collection since the 1980s. It’s easy to see why this car won the Super Chevy Show Editor’s Choice Award at Bristol Dragway in 1999. Powered by a 283 CI V-8 engine mated to a Powerglide automatic transmission, the Bel Air looks simply stunning in its shimmering silver exterior marked by chrome bumpers and BF Goodrich wide whitewall tires. The two-town red and black interior features a power seat, power windows, an AM radio, an in-dash clock and a 120 MPH speedometer. Many daydreams of the perfect American car collection start with a ’57 Bel Air, and this one doesn’t disappoint, as it’s hard for the eyes not to be drawn to this stellar example of the iconic Chevrolet. Sometimes it’s not a disappointment to meet your hero.
